In all, they released eight studio albums, spawning several compilations, a boxed set, a live concert DVD and inspiring one of the most iconic motion picture soundtracks of all time.\r\n\r\nNearly thirty years later, their latest release, Made Of Rain, has charted in a multitude of countries and became the Furs\u2019 second highest ranked UK album ever. It was prominently featured in the end-of-year \u201cBest Albums\u201d chart roundup in dozens of publications worldwide.\r\n\r\nBut the Furs especially thrive live in concert, having headlined at the UK\u2019s famed Glastonbury Festival and, more recently, at esteemed venues including the Hollywood Bowl, London\u2019s Royal Albert Hall, and New York\u2019s Radio City Music Hall among others. They were just having fun again.\r\n\r\nThe Los Angeles quartet, Ben Grey (vocals \/ guitar), Keith Cooper (drums), Austin Hayman (lead vocals) & Lucy Lawrence (bass \/ vocals) never set out to make a record so loud and euphoric, but Celebrator couldn\u2019t be kept in the cake. After the meticulous melancholy of their first full length record, Forever Sometimes, the band was looking to make something unencumbered. Hopeful. The album is as much Stone Roses as it is Pinkerton. Teenage Fanclub and Siamese Dream. Catherine Wheel and Happy Mondays by way of Echo Park. Flourishes of 90\u2019s Britpop and Southern California alternative. Grooves and cascades of fuzzy guitars. The emotional agility of Ben Grey\u2019s lyrics, and Austin Hayman\u2019s sublime guitar work. Melodic, loud and unpredictable. When you listen to Celebrator, it's as if you've just discovered a completely new sound. Songs from another lifetime. Confetti in every measure.\r\n\r\n\u201cWe felt possessed by the moment. Kids with guitars exploring new ways to express ourselves. No ego. No expectation. No industry pressure. We made this album to remember why we do this in the first place. Because we love it.
