Girls in Hawaii
Girls In Hawaii announce try-outs in May 2025.
After two years of celebrating the past, it’s time to look to the future.
2023 saw the reissue of From Here To There, Girls In Hawaii’s critically acclaimed debut album, which established them as one of the flagbearers of Belgian rock. The album sold 60,000 copies and was released in France, the Benelux, Spain, Italy, Germany, the United States and Japan. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the band embarked on a sold-out European tour, culminating in four memorable shows at the legendary Ancienne Belgique in their hometown of Brussels.
In 2025, they’ll take a step back and perform in smaller clubs and cities they haven’t visited in a long time. Back to basics: no TV, no video, just a close connection with the audience — just like in the beginning. They’ll be trying out new songs, and of course, revisiting some of their beloved classics.
A new chapter in the making? We hope you’ll be there to witness it!
The Feather
2024 marks the grand return of The Feather, the solo project of Thomas Medard, the iconic voice of Belgian band Dan San. In June, he revealed a captivating cover of Everything But The Girl’s “Missing,” offering a light, summer-tinged preview. Now, he returns with brand-new material: two singles, “See You Again” and “Always You.” Both tracks were produced, recorded, and mixed by Chris Taylor (Grizzly Bear bassist and collaborator of Twin Shadow, Dirty Projectors, Moses Sumney, Solange, Aaron Parks…). Taylor also lends his vocals to the chorus of “See You Again.”
After multiple back-and-forth trips between Belgium and Spain—where Taylor now resides—the finishing touches were added in Sweden and Los Angeles. The powerful, soaring drums of Thomas Hedlund (Phoenix, Cult of Luna) enrich “See You Again,” while the jazzy, organic rhythms of Kyle Crane (M. Ward, Feist, Peter Bjorn and John…) elevate “Always You.” Both tracks were mastered by Grammy Award-winner Joe LaPorta, known for his work with David Bowie, Vampire Weekend, Fleet Foxes, and Beach House.
Following a debut album, Invisible (2013), which brought him to major international stages (Ancienne Belgique, La Maroquinerie, FME and FEQ festivals in Canada), and ROOM (2020), a home-crafted album praised by critics (Focus Vif 8/10, Le Soir, Moustique), Thomas Medard enters a new phase. Opening up to prestigious collaborations, he shapes an ever more refined and ambitious indie pop sound.
This comeback also marks a new chapter for The Feather: his signing with Dutch label PolyMoon, joining a roster that includes Noa Lee and Rosa Butsi.
