BRUTUS

Brutus is a trio formed in Leuven, Belgium, that debuted in 2013. The trio consists of musicians as diverse as they are talented, especially drummer and vocalist Stefanie Mannaerts, who can scream passionately and switch from deceptively sweet melodies to devastating howls in the blink of an eye, while mastering sustained rhythms as well as post-rock and punk influences. She is accompanied by guitarist Stijn Vanhoegaerden, who alternates between ethereal post-rock sounds and levels of speed and hardcore punk energy, as well as Peter Mulders, a master of sound on bass.

It is the way the band blends all these musical styles and influences so seamlessly that has become their own unique and recognizable style. Their two albums, “Burst” (2017) and “Nest” (2019), have received rave reviews, as have their live shows where they have played at some of the biggest festivals in Europe and North America. They are registered worldwide with Sargent House alongside artists such as Chelsea Wolfe, Russian Circles, Deafheaven, Earth, Emma Ruth Rundle and more, and are on Hassle Records for the UK and Europe.
