LALALAR

The group “Lalalar”, originally from Istanbul, brings to mind the cult TV show themes of the 1980s. With their retro-cinematic basslines, dirty electronic beats, reworked vocals, flirtatious guitars, and samples carefully dug out of Anatolia’s musical heritage, Lalalar evokes a sense of future nostalgia. Founded by three musicians well known on the Turkish music scene and respected for their work both as solo artists and as part of collectives, Lalalar is undoubtedly one of Europe’s must-see discoveries of the moment. The title of their fiery debut single, “Isyanlar”, evokes rebellions, which more or less sums up the way this band operates on stage.
