LAST TRAIN
Free. Determined. Tireless.
In nearly 15 years of a dense and ever-rising career, the four members of Last Train have never let go of the fiery fervor that burns within them. One quick glance in the rearview mirror says it all: two albums, an orchestral project, a short film, a documentary, a mini-series, and at the heart of it all… the stage. Over 500 concerts, from the biggest festivals in Europe to the legendary Olympia in Paris in March 2022. The ultimate recognition. And if this list makes your head spin, it’s perhaps because Last Train has never hesitated to aim high. Always reaching further, always aiming true — guided by one unshakable principle: complete creative and strategic independence, no matter the cost.
So after the ambitious Original Motion Picture Soundtrack, a bold and symphonic reinterpretation of their own songs, Last Train has chosen to make a sharp turn. A visceral reaction, an urgent response. A new step forward, born from a matured experience and unaltered passion.
Lozère, December 2023.
Between the cold, opaque walls of Château de Planchamp, Last Train breathes life into a new chapter of its story. 9 tracks that shape a third album — dark and raw. Even in its title, III claims a writing style that is compact, clear, stripped of the superfluous. But as always with Last Train, essential doesn’t mean easy. Nothing in the raw energy of III is gratuitous: its sonic ferocity is alternately restrained and unleashed to build tension; textures are varied, and emotion is carefully woven throughout. Whispered vocals clash with heavy, incisive sounds, and the repetition of chord progressions draws a taut, hypnotic mechanism. Freed from the grand tragic tone of their previous works, III boldly explores the raw lands of anger and frustration. Its lyrics, cathartic and direct, stand as raw testimonies of a reality that Last Train chants with their trademark sincerity.
Loaded with this primal intensity, III bears the definitive signature of what Last Train truly is: a band like no other — deliberately beyond comparison. And armed with this album made for the stage — their true playground — Last Train is getting ready to hit the road again with an international tour in spring 2025. A new rendezvous between a fervent audience and a band more determined than ever to let their singular voice roar.
