Ridsa
He has his hits: “Là c’est die,” “Pardon,” “Santa Maria”… Albums certified gold or platinum: Tranquille, Libre, Équateur, and many others. Thanks to his Latin origins, Ridsa embodies a well-defined genre: a love for music akin to Bad Bunny, soul reminiscent of Ray Charles, and French chanson, from Goldman to Orelsan. Ridsa boasts impressive figures: millions of views on his videos and as many streams on various platforms. Simply put, when Ridsa releases a track, it’s impossible to miss. Over ten years and numerous successes, Ridsa has established himself as a creator of joyful and danceable festivities. An artist capable of energizing rhythms ranging from bossa nova to Latin pop and bachata. Discovered on YouTube 15 years ago, Ridsa now asserts himself in the French reggaeton style. His music is initially jovial, uplifting, and unifying, yet also poetic and melancholic. Objective: dance to let go.
A Sincere Friend
“Latin music is, above all, poetry,” he emphasizes, with writing as his mainstay. This is what Ridsa now dares to showcase. Because Ridsa is, first and foremost, Maxence Boitez. This young man from Orléans hasn’t always felt in place—”too genuine, too human”—someone lacking self-confidence, especially under the spotlight. Thus, Ridsa allows him to don a persona: that of an artist capable of moving everyone by writing about love and all it encompasses. Ridsa is this music enthusiast with a painful past. An artist who knew the streets, where he created his first album, Tranquille. An artist who got lost and then—finally—found himself. Ridsa is the one who needed a break after his initial successes, then returned with his album Équateur, striving to finally appreciate simple moments. Since then, he has created his own label, Sunset Avenue. In complete independence, he prepares his audience to discover the real Ridsa: an artist capable of producing both bossa nova and reggaeton—even melancholic ones. House music as well as club tracks. Songs with guitar and vocals that restore faith in love, as well as speak of wounds that never heal. That’s why we love Ridsa: for his honesty, his ability to share all that troubles him, to be incredibly close to his audience, like a friend.
Surrounded by musicians on stage, Ridsa is now “completely ready.” Ready to be a true artist, to create uplifting yet authentic Latin music. To be transparent yet always lighthearted. Ridsa’s music is like watching a sunset and the vastness of the sea. One gets lost in it… then forgets oneself by dancing.
