Thylacine

Sometimes, you have to uproot yourself to truly align with who you are, and with the world around you.

It’s this guiding principle, one that has served him so well so far, that Thylacine has chosen to follow once again in his creative journey. The artist we’ve traveled with aboard the Trans-Siberian Railway, along the roads of the Andes and the Faroe Islands, and through Turkey where he learned to play the bağlama, has once again stepped away from the familiar patterns of his Paris studio to create Roads Vol. 3.

True to his now-iconic mode of travel, a blazing 1972 Airstream caravan converted into a mobile studio, William Rezé, aka Thylacine, gave himself the most precious resource of all: time. Time that’s so often missing when caught in the grind of touring and routine. Time that allows travel to become a real experience, where intuition can evolve into something bolder, deeper, more original.

This album emerges as a mirror to that astonishing journey, a true creative vertigo born of deep reflection on his craft and how it relates to the shifting balance of the world around him.

A new musical odyssey that further defines Thylacine as a profoundly singular artist in today’s landscape.

Kowari

Sometimes one has to uproot oneself in order to be in tune with both oneself and the surrounding world.

It is according to this principle—which has served him so well until now—that Thylacine has chosen to pursue his creative quest. The artist we have followed aboard the Trans-Siberian, along the roads of the Andes and the Faroe Islands, or in Turkey learning to play the bağlama, has decided for his new album Roads Vol. 3 to once again step away from the creative automatisms of his Paris studio. Confessing that he finds it difficult to compose two tracks in the same place, he this time set out to roam a new continent for three months.

Still traveling in his now-famous flamboyant caravan— a 1972 Airstream equipped to record, work, and capture his one-of-a-kind journeys—William Rezé aka Thylacine gave himself the time he needed. Time that is so often lacking when one is bogged down in the routine and the pace of touring, time required for journeys to become true experiences and for intuition to evolve into ever bolder and more original material.

This album promises to reflect a fascinating journey— a true creative vertigo, born out of deep reflections on his art and his practice in relation to the balance of the world around him.

A new musical odyssey that confirms Thylacine as an artist fundamentally unique in his kind.
