GIRLS IN HAWAII

The band announces the only Try Out of its tour at the OM before embarking on 4 Sold Out concerts at the Ancienne Belgique and a tour of France!

“From Here To There” is Girls in Hawaii’s brilliant debut album, released exactly twenty years ago. The album established them as one of the standard-bearers of Belgian rock, with a band from Wallonia suddenly gaining a foothold in France. The album sells 60,000 copies and is released in France, the Benelux countries, Spain, Italy, Germany, the USA and Japan.

Barely six months after its release, the band sold out Brussels’ Ancienne Belgique, and the same year, Les Girls
played at the Eurockéennes, the Dour Festival, the Route du Rock, Rock Werchter and the Benicassim Festival…
To celebrate their 20th anniversary, the band will be giving exclusive concerts at Ancienne Belgique on 14, 15, 16 and 17
December 2023 as part of the REWIND series. This cycle, launched in 2007, invites Belgian artists (such as An Pierlé and
dEUS in the past) to play their entire “classic”: a key album in their career, or in Belgian pop in general. The first three dates sold out in the space of a few days. Prior to this, the Girls will also be performing in France from November 30 to December 13.

During these concerts, Girls In Hawaii will recreate the live scenography of their early years (with the now iconic video monitors piloted by Olivier Cornil, the photographer behind the cover of ‘From Here To There’). For the encores, the band is planning a best of focusing on their first albums and a few new tracks…
Girls In Hawaii will also take fans behind the scenes of the creation of their iconic record “From Here
To There” by unveiling the original demo. This limited-edition DIY version features 5 original tracks, plus 4 previously unreleased ones: “Shaped Bee Bed”, “Girls In Hawaii”, “Love’s a Better way to travel”, “Confidence”. One of these gave the band its name. 100 vinyl pre-orders will go on sale on Thursday October 05, and the remaining 900 copies will be available during the tour.
The band is also releasing the album on white vinyl. Available from November 17 at BXL.

Chaton Laveur

A sound engineer and a drummer decide to write music on instinct. They invent poly-instrumentalists, each playing two roles. One oscillates between guitar and bass, while the other combines drums and keyboards. With a determination to be efficient and to get straight to the point, always in search of the right melody, this duo addresses us with simple words to make us move a little and float a lot.
