TeddyBear
TeddyBear explores the human soul in all its exhilarating, unsettling and melancholic complexity. Born in Mons into a family of Sicilian musicians, he took his first steps in music behind the drums, accompanying other artists. Following several losses among those close to him, he began putting his emotions down on paper. In 2023, he unexpectedly stepped in for a rapper friend on stage, picked up the microphone and never looked back. It wasn’t long before artists such as Orelsan, Clara Luciani, Feu! Chatterton and Julien Doré invited him to open their shows.
For his debut album Le Plus Beau, TeddyBear joined forces with Nicolas Subréchicot (Zaho de Sagazan), Paco Del Rosso (Damso, Camille Yembe) and Tristan Salvati (Angèle, Miki), among others. Piano, strings, brass and drums blend with electronic textures, creating a musical world shaped by influences ranging from Jacques Brel and Salvatore Adamo to Yussef Dayes, Alpha Wann and Bigflo & Oli.
Neither entirely chanson nor entirely pop, yet also infused with rap, TeddyBear’s music refuses to fit neatly into any one category. Through intimate and sensitive lyrics, he explores his fears and vulnerabilities, family, the transition into adulthood and the way others see us, without ever trying to create a character for himself.
