Wednesday 13
Wednesday 13 (born Joseph Poole on August 12, 1976, in Charlotte, North Carolina) is one of the most iconic figures in horror rock, earning the nickname “The Duke of Spook” for his unique blend of horror, punk, and metal.
He first emerged in the 1990s with Maniac Spider Trash before founding Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13 in 1996, a cult favorite within the horror punk scene. In 2002, he gained international recognition with Murderdolls, alongside Joey Jordison, thanks to the album Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls.
Since 2005, he has pursued a successful solo career, combining horror punk, glam metal, and hard rock with highly theatrical live performances. Backed by a rotating lineup of musicians over the years, he has developed a heavier sound while remaining true to the macabre aesthetic that has defined his career.
The Birthday Massacre
The Birthday Massacre are a six-piece band from Toronto who have spent 25 years building one of the most distinctive sounds in dark alternative music — synth-driven and guitar-heavy, melodic and dissonant, equal parts nostalgia and dread.
Their music exists in the space between a pop hook and a knife’s edge, drawing on the textures of ’80s synthwave and new wave, the weight of industrial and dark wave, and a visual aesthetic inspired by horror and fantasy cinema as well as fine art.
Live, the band brings that world to life in its entirety. Chibi is a magnetic presence at the center of it all, her voice moving from delicate to devastating within a single song. Around her, the interplay between dual guitars, keyboards, and driving bass creates a sound that hits even harder on stage than it does on record.
The show is immersive, atmospheric, and visceral — the kind of performance that feels designed as a complete experience from the first note to the last.
What makes a Birthday Massacre show something beyond a concert is the relationship between the band and the people who come to see them. This fanbase has been built over decades through genuine connection. The band has always met their audience where they are, personally and without distance.
Walking into a TBM show feels less like attending a performance and more like arriving somewhere you already belong.
